Behaviours That Represent BLM
WE’RE GOING TO STAND
UP AS A COMMUNITY AND FIGHT AGAINST ANYONE WHO BELIEVES THAT MURDER OR ANY
VIOLENT ACTION BY THOSE WHO ARE SWORN TO PROTECT US SHOULD CONSISTENTLY GO
UNPUNISHED
THESE ROBBERIES OF
LIVES MAKE US FEEL HELPLESS AND HOPELESS BUT WE HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT WE ARE
FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE NEXT GENERATION, FOR THE NEXT YOUNG MEN AND
WOMEN WHO BELIEVE IN GOOD
These two quotes above were quotes that Beyonce had posted
on her website in order to show support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
The powerful part about these quotes are that these explain the behaviours of
the protesters and their mindsets, and help explain the injustices and
grievances that black people in the west have to deal with, for the most part.
These behaviours are both important and extremely effective because of the fact
that they help us in understanding the grievances of Black people and they
educate us on the plights of Black communities.
Black communities in America
have been dealing with corrupt government and police forces ever since the
conception of the United States. Racial and systemic discrimination has always
been prevalent in American society, and most prevalent in the police force. The
only difference now is that the actions of the police force are less hidden
now, due to the internet and technology. Now that people are able to see the
actions of corrupt police officers, they are becoming more and more fed up with
the system, and have to create change with their own two hands. Thanks to
victims like 15 year old Jordan Edwards, 37 year old Alton Sterling, 50 year
old Walter Scott, 17 year old Trayvon Martin, 43 year old Eric Garner, 18 year
old Michael Brown, 25 year old Freddie Gray, and the countless other victims
whose stories have never been told, change will come.
